Mr Chris Horton, Heating Engineer - Hartlepool, Teesside

Customer: Mr Chris Horton, a heating engineer
Location: Hartlepool, Teesside

Problems:

  • HEATING SYSTEM NOISY
  • SLOW TO HEAT UP
  • RADIATORS NEEDED BLEEDING EVERY 3 TO 4 DAYS
  • CORRODED RADIATORS WERE NEEDING REPLACEMENT
  • EXCESSIVE ENERGY BILLS

We were approached by Mr. Horton, who is a heating engineer with an M & E Contractor based in Hartlepool, Teesside. The problems with his gravity fed heating system were many.

Solution:

A TADPOLE was installed on the 10th March 2007.

When the system was re-commissioned, the difference in performance was noticed within the first 10 minutes of the heating cycle.

  • THE SYSTEM WAS HEATING UP MUCH QUICKER
  • THE SYSTEM, WHICH HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN VERY NOISY, WAS NOW ALMOST SILENT.
  • THE PUMP WAS NOW VIBRATION FREE.
  • THE RADIATORS WERE HEATING MUCH FASTER.
  • THE RADIATORS REACHED A MUCH HIGHER TEMPERATURE.
  • THE DOMESTIC HOT WATER HEATED UP AND RECOVERED MUCH FASTER AND TO A HIGHER TEMPERATURE.
  • SINCE INSTALLATION OF TADPOLE THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A NEED TO BLEED RADIATORS

Mr Horton is also reporting significant savings on his heating bill and is currently compiling a cost analysis to add to this case study.
